TalmagePotts

Software engineer. I design and build iPhone, Mac and web apps, from idea to launch.

Most of what’s below started as something I, or someone close to me, needed: a budget we’d actually keep, a dictionary that teaches how Japanese words sound, a card game played by our own house rules.

I take an idea from a rough description to something people use, on the App Store or on the web, and I care about the parts that are easy to skip: how it feels in the hand, whether it works without a signal, and whether it’s still fast a year later.

What I build

iPhone and Android apps
Native SwiftUI when an app should feel at home on iPhone, or one shared codebase when it needs both platforms. All the way through App Store release.
Web apps
Tools people use every day in the browser, phone included: offline support, accounts, sync, and AI where it actually helps.
Websites
Fast, simple sites that are easy for you to update, with contact forms that land in your inbox.

How I work

  1. A short call

Thirty minutes, free. You tell me the idea and who it's for, I ask a lot of questions, and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person for it.

  2. A written proposal

What I'll build, what I won't, a fixed price and a timeline, in plain language. Usually within a few days of the call.

  3. Design first, then building in the open

You approve the design before I build anything. From there, new features can be added while the work is underway, your feedback goes in quickly, and you get frequent test builds on your own phone or browser to see the progress and give the okay.

  4. Launch and handoff

I handle the App Store submission or the deployment. You own the code and the accounts, and I stay around for fixes after launch.

Start a project

Tell me what you're thinking of building. A rough idea is fine; that's what the first call is for.

Prefer email? Write to hello@talmagepotts.dev.

What do you want built?

Who is it for, and what problem does it solve for them?

Where are you now?

When do you want to launch?

A rough range is fine, e.g. “$3–5k”.
