    Envelope budgeting where every dollar in your accounts has a job, synced with your bank and the same on your iPhone and your Mac.

    • Shared Rust core behind a Tauri Mac app and a native SwiftUI iPhone app, built with a collaborator
    • Bank sync through Plaid, with local-first SQLite storage and background sync across devices
    • Transactions categorize themselves: your own merchant rules apply first, and an AI model handles the rest in a background queue

  2. Nichi

    A Japanese dictionary for iPhone and Android that shows the pitch accent of every word and works fully offline.

    • Offline Japanese dictionary of 240,000+ words with pitch accent, searchable in kanji, kana, romaji or English
    • Rust search engine shared into SwiftUI through UniFFI; generated native-sounding voice packs plus an on-demand speech server
    • Shipped on the App Store with in-app purchases, later made free

    • Research chat that answers questions about Hebrew and Greek texts by running real corpus searches and showing each one as evidence
    • Natural-language query generator that validates, runs and repairs its own queries; Strong's numbers and Hebrew–Septuagint reference mapping

    Speech to text on your phone that's fast and accurate enough to replace typing.

    • Speech-to-text web app that returns a transcript about a second after you stop talking
    • Live mode with on-device voice-activity detection; API keys kept server-side behind a small Hono server

  5. Pinochle

    Partnership pinochle played by our family's house rules, with computer players, online tables and our own card art.

    • Built my own pinochle AI: it infers hidden hands from the bidding, then plays by Monte Carlo search over likely deals
    • Rules engine for house-rule partnership pinochle; an arena plays AI levels against each other to measure every change
    • Real-time online tables over WebSockets with invite codes; covered by unit and end-to-end tests
